Meg Callahan

Raised in the great state of Oklahoma, Meg Callahan went on to study Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design where she discovered her interest in the value of the handmade in contemporary life as well as the importance of a freshly sharpened pencil. Her genuine curiosity and passion for making is not only seeded in the decorative arts, but in all things in life.

M.Callahan Studio was founded in 2011, and is centered on creating objects that focus on the beauty and complexity of construction. The studio’s main focus is patchwork quilting, and each piece is made to order with sensitivity to craftsmanship. The studio holds an interest in the handmade, as well as the value of efficient production methods, and therefore finds quilting alluring because it is boastfully handmade and not inherently efficient. The pieces are a culmination of traditional processes and experimentation.
